How Our Direct Care Model Works

  • No insurance required. You pay directly for your care.

  • We provide a superbill upon request, allowing you to submit for out-of-network reimbursement (except for Medicare — see below).

  • Patients with high-deductible plans often find our pricing is more affordable than traditional in-network care.

  • You can use your HSA or FSA to pay for services.

  • Insurance can still be used for lab work or pathology, but we also offer flat-rate pricing options that are often lower than the rates billed by labs through insurance.

Please Note: If Medicare insures you, federal law prohibits submitting claims for reimbursement from a non-participating provider.

Our Dermatology Pricing

At Modern Dermatology, we believe that high-quality skin care should be transparent, accessible, and straightforward. Our direct care model eliminates the confusion of traditional insurance-based billing — no surprise bills, no hidden fees, and full clarity on costs before your visit.

Whether you need a skin exam, acne treatment, minor surgery, or cosmetic dermatology like Botox® or mole removal, you’ll always know exactly what to expect.

  • Comprehensive skin exams, acne management, rashes, skin concerns, and follow-ups.

  • Virtual consultation for select dermatology concerns such as acne, rashes, or prescription management.

  • Required monthly check-ins during isotretinoin (Accutane) therapy.

  • Covers biopsies, cryotherapy (liquid nitrogen for precancers, warts), steroid injections (for cysts, keloids, alopecia), skin tag removal, milia extraction, and similar quick procedures. This is in addition to the office visit fee.

  • Removal of skin growths or lesions requiring sutures. Includes both the excision and wound closure.

  • Surgical removal of benign cysts or lipomas performed in-office under local anesthesia.

  • Treatment for superficial skin cancers using scraping and cautery.

  • Surgical removal of skin cancers or dysplastic moles, with price determined by size and complexity.

  • Removal of benign moles for cosmetic reasons. Pricing depends on size, number, and location.

  • A full consult to discuss cosmetic procedures including Botox®, fillers, microneedling, or skin rejuvenation. This fee is applied toward your treatment if performed the same day.

  • Experience the convenience of personalized care in the comfort of your own home. Our house call service is available for select appointment types, offering the same high-quality care you’d receive in-office—brought directly to your doorstep. Ideal for patients with limited mobility, busy schedules, or those seeking added privacy. Availability is limited and must be scheduled in advance.
