Dr. Alexander Dane is a board-certified dermatologist and a fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon, bringing a high level of surgical skill and a compassionate, patient-first philosophy to Modern Dermatology. Known for his meticulous technique, he specializes in delivering elegant, natural-looking results in both skin cancer removal and facial cosmetic procedures.

A native of Michigan, Dr. Dane completed his Bachelor of Science at the University of Michigan and earned his medical degree from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He went on to complete his internship and dermatology residency at Beaumont Health System, where he served as Chief Dermatology Resident.

Following his residency, Dr. Dane completed a one-year ACGME-accredited fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology. With extensive experience in performing thousands of skin cancer surgeries and intricate reconstructions, he is dedicated to the prevention and treatment of skin cancer with the highest standard of care.

In addition to his expertise in skin cancer, Dr. Dane is a highly-skilled and passionate facial cosmetic surgeon. He specializes in advanced procedures such as Mini Facelifts, upper and lower blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), and liposuction of the neck and jowl areas. He is committed to enhancing, not altering, his patients’ unique features, and his knowledge of facial anatomy has made him a trusted teacher for other physicians on cosmetic injection techniques.

Beyond his surgical work, Dr. Dane has extensive experience in dermatologic and laser surgery, general medical dermatology, and cosmetic dermatology. He is a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Academy of Dermatology. He is also dedicated to global health, having completed numerous dermatologic medical missions to underserved communities around the world.
